hi this is cary miller
ive been a fan of celicas my entire driving history sorry it was not my
first car but it was my second.this car is a 72 vintage that i got from
a guy that had it sitting on the side of his house for 8-9 years but it
was in desent shape so i could not pass it up.
im not into super clean cars so i apologize for its appearence. i do
however make them fast this one has a 18rgeu engine that was stored in a
garage for 20 years and has never been run in this country lets just say
he did not know what he had and i have it now. im a drag racer by nature
and a automotive repair shop owner by trade so i have the tools to do
the racing thing ,so this is what i did and this is what it has.
internally stock 18rgeu with the exeption of 304 duration hks cams
45 weber sidedraft carbs
trd header to three inch ex with a flowmaster muffler
msd heli-core sparkplug wires
msd 7al-2 spark box with 8000 rpm rev limiter and a pro drag coil
centerforce 2 clutch assy
custom geared tranny with a 3.93 to 1 first gear
truck drive line retubed and shortened to fit
hilux rearend narrowed two inches to fit with a little extra room
8 gallon fuel cell in the trunk
140 gph fuel pump with -8 fuel lines
13 5.5 enkie wheels with 185-60-13 front tires and 24.5-7.0-13 mickey
thompson drag slicks on the rear
full autometer gauges
front suspention is 2 1/2 coil 120 lbs springs on 7in adjustable sleeves
with the strut housings cut to install dodge colt strut inserts to lower
the stance and limit travel to 6 1/2 inches
rear springs are cut starlet springs to get the ride height
the car at this time runs a 14.2 at 92 mph with a basiclly stock
internal engine
the car is launched at 8000 rpm on the rev limiter and runs a low 1.80s
in the 60 ft

the engine im building for the car right now is made up of the following
parts
and should be running inthe next few weeks
fully ported 18rgeu cylinder head with 2mm oversize custom intake valves
and 1mm oversize ex valves
custom fabbed intake manifold to support 55mm weber sidedraft carbs
hks 320 duration .433 lift cams both sides
custom 1 3/4 primary into 3in collector with 3in ex into the flowmaster
muffler
2xr crank shaft fitted innto the 18r block with a set of crower 2xr rods

venolia custom made 15.8 to 1 compression pistons
and possibly a 140hp shot of nos through four fogger nozzels in the
manifold
that should make her run pretty good
ill update you on the project as i gets finished
yes i plan on painting it also black of course
